10 Stars Kids Who Couldn’t Make It Big In Tollywood

Millions of people dream of becoming an actor. Some succeed while some others don’t even get the opportunity to prove their talent. Star kids find it easier to make their first appearance on the big screen. However, only a few make it to the big league. Most of them disappear after their debut. In this age of nepotism, there are still a few star kids who have not been able to make it big. It’s like a trend for the families in the film industry to bring their next generation also to the big screen.

Even though most of these actors were from huge film families they couldn’t do well when it came to testing their mettle as lead actors. Most of the times it does not depend on the acting skill of the star it’s the background that counts. And neither is it the support nor the filmy cast or background, they need a lot more to become a success story in Tollywood.

Here is a list of 10- star kids who despite coming from powerful film families could not make a mark in Tollywood.

Tarun Kumar

Tarun Kumar is the son of actor Chakrapani Savvana Bhatti and actress Roja Ramani. He began his acting career as a child artist. He debuted in a lead role in 2000 in the movie ‘Nuvve Kavali’. He did films in Telugu and Tamil. Although ‘Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu’, ‘Nuvve Kavali’, ‘Bhale Dongalu’, and ‘Sasirekha Parinayam’ were hits, he did not become a successful actor in Tollywood.

Sumanth

Sumanth is the nephew of famous actor Nagarjuna, and the grandson of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He debuted in 1999 film ‘Premakatha’, directed by popular director Ram Gopal Varma. ‘Satyam’, ‘Godavari’, and ‘Golconda High School’ were his only hits in the 22 films he did. This proved that family background is not the only thing needed to make it big in the industry. Even though he did a pretty a lot of movies, he didn’t do well.

Raja Goutham Kanneganti

Raja Goutham Kanneganti is the son of the famous comedian Brahmanandam. He debuted as the lead in ‘Pallakilo Pelli Kuthru’. Although his acting was appreciated by critics, the film was a flop in the box office. He made a comeback after 10 years with the film ‘Basanti’, which too was a drastic failure. Due to these failures, he could not manage to get any more offers.

Sai Ram Shankar

Sai Ram Shankar is the brother of the famous director, Puri Jagannath. Even though he started off as an assistant director he did not prove lucky as a hero. He debuted in 2002, in the film Idiots in a small supporting role. In 2004 he played the lead role in the film ‘143’. He’s had more failures than successes. Only a few out of the films he acted did well. Even though he could not make it big in Tollywood, his acting skills were widely acclaimed by critics.

Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu

Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu, the son of Super Star Krishna, started his career as a child artist in the film ‘Manushulu Chesina Dongalu’. He has acted in several other movies as a child actor. His debut as a lead actor was years later through the film ‘Samraat’. He has acted in a lot of movies with his father Krishna. His films ‘Kaliyuga Karnudu’ and ‘Mugguru Kodukulu’ were even directed by Super star Krishna. Although he had a strong background he could not make it big like is his father or brother, Mahesh Babu

Vikram Narayana

Vikram Narayana is the son of M.S. Narayana, who is a very famous comedian in Telugu Cinema. He debuted in the film ‘Koduku’, which turned out to be a flop. After a few years he changed his name and made a comeback in ‘Bhajantreelu‘ which also flopped. He tried out his luck in villan, supporting and hero roles but it did not go well for him either.

Taraka Ratna

Taraka Ratna comes from the famous film family Nandamuri. He is the grandson of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. He made his debut through ‘Okato Number Kurradu’ in 2002. From then he made numerous appearances in different types of roles. He was much appreciated for doing a villain role in ‘Amaravathi’ than all of his lead roles. He also received a Nandi award for the same. Although he got a lot of opportunities, he could not do well as a hero in Tollywood.

Aryan Rajesh

Aryan Rajesh is the son of director EVV Satyanarayana, who introduced both his sons to films. His brother, Naresh worked mostly in comedy roles. Rajesh tried his luck in action films. EVV Satyanarayana directed his first few movies. Although he did several movies, he could not handle the tight competition. He finally decided to be a producer and work under the banner EVV Cinema.

Arun Kumar

Arun Kumar, the son of famous director and producer Dasari Narayana Rao, debuted in Tollywood in 1998 with the film ‘Greekuveerudu’, which was directed by Dasari Narayana Rao himself. The movie didn’t do exceptionally well at the box office. He made a comeback after 3 years in the film Chinna, which was also directed by his father. He did several movies in lead and supporting roles, inspite of his father’s support, he did not emerge as a star.

Naveen Vadde

Vadde Naveen is the son of well-known producer Vadde Ramesh, who is famous for the movies he produced in Hindi and Telugu. His debut movie, ‘Korukunna Priyudu’ was released in 1997. His movies were mostly love or family oriented ones like ‘Maa Balaji’, ‘Tamboolalu’, ‘Naa Hridayamlo Nidurinche Cheli’, and ‘Maa Aavida Meedottu Mee Aavida Chala Manchidi’. He did 27 movies, in both supporting and lead roles. Even though he did so many movies he could not rise to the top in the industry.
